Effective 2026-08-07. This policy covers Caturday (iOS app) and its widget.

1. Who we are

Caturday is developed by Oliver Michalak (werk01). Contact: [email protected]

2. Analytics and tracking

Neither Caturday nor its widget perform any analytics, usage tracking, or telemetry. No analytics SDK, crash reporter, or third-party tracking library is integrated in either target. No advertising identifiers are used or requested.

3. What data is involved

  • iCloud / CloudKit account context. Caturday uses Apple's CloudKit to sync a shared public database of curated cat photos. This relies on the user being signed in to iCloud; no separate account, email, or password is created or collected by this app.
  • Locally stored photos. Synced cat photos are cached on-device, with automatic cleanup of temporary data.
  • No user-generated data is collected. The apps do not collect names, emails, contacts, location, or any personal information about the person using Caturday or the widget.

4. Third-party content

The photos displayed originate from public posts on Mastodon, copied into CloudKit after automated screening for appropriateness and deduplication. This policy is about your data as an end user of Caturday, not about the rights of the original photo posters — for sourcing, attribution, and takedown requests, contact us at the address above.

5. Data sharing

Data (the synced photo set) is stored in Apple's CloudKit public database, governed by Apple's own privacy terms for CloudKit. We do not sell, share, or transmit any data to third parties or ad networks.

6. Data retention

Local device caches are cleaned up automatically after short, fixed time windows. The shared CloudKit dataset is pruned to a target size as part of normal operation; older records are removed as new ones are published.

7. Children's privacy

Caturday does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

8. Your choices

Because no account or personal profile is created, there is no account-deletion flow to document. Uninstalling the app removes its local on-device cache.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
